Professional Caregivers
Professional caregivers can change lives for the better simply by helping others gain independence. Care Nurses Registry is one of the best professional caregivers organizations available. When qualified professional caregivers become part of the equation, both the patient and the family benefit. Children come into this world unaware that their parents are their caregivers for the first 18 years of their lives. The minute a child gains mobility they want to become free and independent. Most young people do not give the care they receive a second thought. Many take the parenting they receive for granted. As adults we enjoy our independence and take that for granted as well. Independence is never guaranteed and it can easily be lost through circumstance.

Baby Boomers
We are all living longer because of the advancements in medical technology. Do you know someone who is taking care of an ill family member? It is not unusual for people to live into their 80s or even late 90s. How will our own quality of life be affected if we suffer from chronic health conditions or dementia? One of the most important questions surrounding this issue is how will you take care of yourself? Will you need help and depend on friends or family? Most family members are busy with their own lives. When they are forced to become caregivers either for a young child with a challenge or an aging parent or sibling, it can become a problematic situation. Negative emotions occur regardless of how much the family loves the patient. The resentment builds when they find that their freedom is diminishing when their time is spent taking care of an ill family member. What inevitably happens is the patient who needs the care feels guilty and frustrated. No one wants to ask for help. Eventually the caregiver will become stressed and exhausted and end up needing care as well. Professional caregivers are the answer.
I have had experience on both ends of the stick. As a child I became paralyzed by spinal meningitis and polio. Although I was the one paralyzed, my entire family was affected by my condition. Years later as an adult I understood what sacrifices my mother willingly made to take care of me. It was not until I became her caregiver during a serious bout of cancer that I truly understood. When my mother became too ill to care for herself, I was working fulltime and raising two teenage daughters. I had only one choice and it was to hire a professional caregiver because I could not afford to give up my career. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I felt secure in knowing that her needs were being taken care of in my absence.
Adversity happens
No one enjoys thinking about adversity or illness, however being prepared and knowing what to do in the event that you need a professional caregiver to come into the home to assist you or family member will help you sleep better at night. With over 10,000 baby boomers retiring every year and settling in areas like Florida, the need for high quality professional caregivers is on the rise. Our society is definitely struggling with health issues and an aging society. I am sure that we all know or love someone who has one or more of the following ailments.
- Stroke
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Cancer
- Mobility or disability challenges
- Pulmonary disorders
- Autoimmune disorders
