What you need to know about insurance

What you need to know about insurance

Insurance of any kind can be a confusing product.  At least it used to be and therefore many people decided not to make the investment and kept their fingers crossed that nothing would happen to them or to their loved ones.

One of the fastest growing minorities and sub groups today is the disabled. I know what you are thinking as I write those words. Most people never consider that serious illness or disability could happen to them.  As a result they don’t have sufficient life insurance coverage to protect themselves or their families.  When I was very young I remember a life insurance man coming to my home and scaring my family to death. The “what if’s” were too awful to think about.  Being young I figured all that can wait until later in life. That is a mistake the majority of people make.

The good news is that things in the insurance world have greatly improved. There are some fabulous affordable options available that can take the fear and stress out of the “what ifs.”

Here are a few sobering statistics;

  • One out of every four 20 year old people will have a chronic illness or disability before they retire.
  • Someone is diagnosed with cancer every 30 seconds. 60% of all bankruptcies result from a devastating illness.
  • Each year, approximately 795,000 people suffer a stroke.
  • Every year about 720,000 Americans have a heart attack.
  • 29.1 Million Americans, or 9.3% of the population, have diabetes.

Here are some things you need to consider before buying life Insurance:

  • Know what your needs are so you can purchase the right kind of policy for yourself and your loved ones
  • If you have a policy and you are thinking of changing it, never cancel until the new one is in effect
  • Check out the pros and cons of competing companies-do your homework
  • Premium’s can be expensive. Don’t over extend yourself
  • Understand the renewal policies
  • If you don’t understand all the details, don’t hesitate to ask questions
  • Make sure you review the policy every few years

It is much wised to have life insurance so you don’t ever get caught unprotected.  Never Say Impossible is pleased to introduce you to Marc Cram and he is going to enlighten all of us and share what major changes are happening in life insurance.
