Accidental Drowning! Can you think of anything worse?  I think about it and I feel sick. We final have that dream house with a swimming pool and then the unthinkable happens.  One of our very own babies, that we love more than we love ourselves, escapes right under our own watchful eyes and falls into the pool within a split second.  How could something so awful happen? Unfortunately, it happens more often than we care to believe. We are not bad parents and we are not neglectful. It is a horrifying accident. This is a tragic, life-altering occurrence that we must all be aware of and guard against.  The big question is how? We only have two eyes.

 

Statics show that over 1,000 children drowned in the US in 2012. That number excludes boating accidents. It’s a definite improvement over the last decade, however the numbers are still too high.

WHY?  HERE ARE ARE FEW REASONS:

Lack of the ability to swim:

Lack of proper safety:

Unattended swiming areas:

Failure to Wear Life Jackets:

Undiagnosed health issues such as seizures

Failure to wear life jackets

Alcohol abuse
