CHANGING THE LIVES OF TERMINALLY ILL CHILDREN

When I was a child, I was taken from my family in an ambulance. It was a terrifying experience. Subsequently, doctors, nurses, and technicians surrounded me while performing invasive procedures. Later, I experienced a one-year separation from my family, laced with boredom, sadness, humiliation, and depression. I was one of the lucky children who survived a life-threatening illness. It has been a long time since I was a child, and as progressive as science is today regarding illness and birth defects, there is still a great deal of suffering both to the children and to their families when illness enters their lives.
Most of us want to help and cause a change in the lives of these innocent children who are in hospitals and facilities everywhere. But how do we do that? Recently I met an impressive woman who is devoting her life to providing a ray of sunshine and joy into the lives of seriously ill children. Jan Rogers and her daughter Lauren Turner are the cofounders of Dreammakers For life. They are two unique individuals who are putting the
needs of others before their own. I am honored to have Jan Rogers visiting our broadcast “Never Say Impossible” today.
” Jan Rogers was a probate paralegal for over 25 years and is now semi-retired to pursue her dream and passion to help seriously and terminally ill children and their families. Jan and her family reside in South Florida and established a 501(c)(3) charitable organization called Dreammakers for Life. It took Jan and Lauren 10 years to design and create Dream Packs that are provided to children’s hospitals at no cost to them or their patients.”
Dreammakers For Life is currently in nine major children’s hospitals in South Florida and Alabama, and their goal is to bring hope to critically ill children and their families around the world! ”
