DO YOU NEED A COACH TO HELP YOU REACH YOUR GREATEST POTENTIAL?

DO YOU HAVE THAT ENTREPRENORIAL SPIRIT?

Dr. Mark Anthony Smikle – Master Business Coach

Owning your own business is a wonderful adventure.  Starting anything new is exciting.  But what  do you do when the funding is tight, and things are not growing as fast as you had hoped they would?

Here are some statistics that are very encouraging.  Small business is the engine that drives the economy of the United States.  Every month thousands of  new small businesses start up across the contiguous United States.  The good news is that very few of these new  small businesses fail.  But, we would be naïve if we ignored the fact that many potential entrepreneurs do make several common mistakes in the beginning that can be avoided.  Here are a few tips:

Often a potential entrepreneur is not fully prepared for the transition from being an employee to being the boss.

  •  Do not overlook the importance of a business plan.  Most business plans metamorphocize during the startup stage.  It is a project that most people would rather skip. However, it is a great place to begin to research your market, your potential niche customer base, funding, and simply put, a well written  and thought out plan that will get you off the ground floor.
  •  Be prepared to be your own boss and be self-motivated.  Remember the only clock you will punch is one that you set up for yourself.
  •  Strategically plan your days to prevent loss of motivation.
  •  Create a good time management approach.
  •  Carefully analyze your profit and loss and stay on top of your finances. Over spending is a trap.
  •  Do not overlook the importance of a business coach- It is an important addition to your budget.
