The future of the Internet radio is a growing phenomenon. The ability to use your voice freely over the Internet as a part of an ever-growing global networking society is becoming more powerful every day. Internet radio was conceived in the mid-90s in an effort to create a new medium where music lovers could go to listen to what would be considered less than conventional every day AM or FM music over the same-old radio stations, with all too familiar music.
In the beginning, the first few radio stations were met with less than an enthusiastic reception. There were many reasons for that, one being super sonic spread of the Internet in general and the social-networking programs available, such as Facebook, Twitter and so many others. In the early stages of Internet radio, there were also other problems such as poor sound quality. Since then, Internet radio it has become an easy to access medium ,which offers all kinds of information and entertainment to an ever-growing worldwide audience. Yes, you can network and make friends anywhere in the world simply by transmitting your message via Internet radio. All you need is a telephone line and a connection to the internet.
Today, traditional radio is being challenged by the miracle and technology of Internet radio. Watching Internet radio grow is watching history in the making. It is one of the least expensive effective ways to reach all kinds of potential listeners and audiences. Unlike traditional radio, the Internet radio stations offer all kinds of advantages including graphics, and animation. Companies are quickly finding out that this is the new way to advertise and reach a highly diverse audience. It is surprisingly inexpensive. The most common means of promotion offered on Internet radio is through graphic ads, banners, pop-ups, and of course professionally produced vocal ads. The possibilities are endless. Consider the “click–through” opportunities. Click- through is when money is earned by the show, when users click on the banner ad and then visit the advertiser’s site.
Now as we enter the 2nd decade of the twenty-first century, the technology of the iPhone, Blackberry, iPad, iPod and so forth, have offered a great deal of conveniences to the listener. Simply, research programs or the show you want to listen to, which more than likely is available through iTunes, click to listen live, or scroll through the archives and click to listen to previous podcasts anytime, anywhere. Sharing your favorite show with associates, friends and family has also become a common pastime.
Needless to say, I’m in love with Internet radio.
As a inspirational speaker, author, radio talk-show host of the Never Say Impossible show I have not found a more effective way to interact, network, and provide opportunities both for the listener and for my guests. All this from the comfort of my home office dressed in my sweat pants. I don’t want to oversimplify the learning curve necessary to create a meaningful and interesting show. Like anything else it does require some time investment and a definite expansion of your grey matter. However, learning how to do it correctly, is well worth your time. It has been my experience that there are thousands of shows available currently, but the one’s worth tuning into have been produced professionally. I would like to make it clear that you can find all kinds of shows, about every topic. However, the ones that draw the largest audience have great sound quality and important content. So before you jump into the game, take the time to do the research.
